Mississippi Palisades features the river with “Two Sisters” sandstone outcropping. The palisades, or steep jagged cliffs along the river, were untouched by the glaciers which gives this area its unique majesty. Mississippi Palisades State Park is in Carroll Co, Illinois.

The State Park series features the varied landscapes found within Illinois, and is representative of the vastness of the American landscape. Each print features one hand-carved block and two layers of abstract color fields created using type-high wood blocks. All three layers are letterpress printed.
