Starved Rock II features sandstone bluffs overlooking a river carved out by glaciers and water over millennia. Inspired by Lover’s Leap at Starved Rock State Park in LaSalle County, Illinois.

The State Park series features the varied landscapes found within Illinois, and is representative of the vastness of the American landscape. Each print features one hand-carved block and two layers of abstract color fields created using type-high wood blocks. All three layers are letterpress printed.
